According to the Craniosacral method, our bodies breathe in three kinds of rhythm, except of the lung breathing rhythm.
They call it "Breath of life" or "Primary respiration rhythm".
When I didn't know this method I have found a similar rhythm for calming daily body and transforming "Quiet body".
Quiet body is for me the first one of ten bodies. I found that I need to be quiet body which is released from all kinds of busy rhythms of daily body and mind.
At first I tried to traditional breathing in various culture, Buddism, Yoga, Tao (Taichi), and so on.
But for me the most comfortable rhythm was longer than the rhythm of lung breathing. I didn't know why, but anyway it worked for me to transform Quiet body, then I did it for long years without naming.
Recently I had a chance to learn Craniosacral method from a student, Pia.
She is a long experienced practitionor of Craniosacral method and Yoga.
I found that their concept of "The primary respiration" or "Breath of life" ex is the same rhythm which I found as the best rhythm for Quiet body.
Also the basic way of thinking about life and body, the Craniosacral method and Subbody method have so many similar thoughts. I will investigate deeper about this.
The breath of life
1. Long tide
The first one is long tide breathing which they call the primary respiratory mechanism. It has 45-50 seconds rhythm. It is the breath of life different from the lung breathing.
This rhythm is so similar of my teacher of life; Nenkin (Slime mold). Its body fluid changes the direction of stream opposite direction in their body in each 40-60 seconds.
Then they can recognize all constellation of qualia between self and world. (See video above. Notice: The speed is amplified.)
We can be with our life in this long tide rhythm.
2. Mid tide
The second rhythm is mid tide which has 12 second rhythm. It is called as potency tide or fluid tide, too. It is also different from lung breathing. It develope from life breathing to the body fluid.. The body spread toward upper and wide direction for arround 12 seconds and fade down and body becomes longer for 12 seconds.
3. Cranial rhythmic Impulse
Thr third one is CRI (Cranial Rhythmic Impulse) which is for 3 to 10 seconds rhythm. CRI is also the developement of the breath of life through the craniosacral motion to the body movement. In the swaying meditation you may find it as the most comfortable rhythm of sway.
I was seraching a method to calm down body and mind deeper for these years, because I planed to practice of possessed body and transparent resonance body. It requires us to controll body and mind more deeply to become possessed body, because if not we meet a danger to be possessed by strong unknown emotional storm from unkown dimension of qualia.
I notced that to learn the breath of life which has these three kinds of rhythm will help us to calm down and to control us to be ourselves firmly, even any kinds of qualia visit us.
Especially to remember the long tide and mid tide is usefull, when we are out of control from quiet condition.
To be with your life all the time
When you got the Breath of life, you can enter the novel realm to learn the transforming method of possessed body and transparent resonance body.
Toward the Butoh of life
Also this is useful for investigating in what is "the Butoh of life" which Hijikata longed for in his later years and could not completed, because of his death.
In front of you, an unknown virgin flontier in where nobody has stepped is waiting for you.
